LORNA MELENDREZ WOODS
In 2002, my journey into interior design began while studying at Scottsdale Community College/ NAU. Even during my time as a student, friends and colleagues sought my expertise to reimagine their homes and spaces, solidifying my belief that crafting stunning, practical environments was not just a passion but my true calling.
My expertise spans both residential and commercial design, with a focus on creating spaces that seamlessly blend beauty, functionality, and personalization. Each project is tailored to reflect my clients’ lifestyles, ensuring an atmosphere that feels both inviting and purposefully designed.
Much of my career has been built organically through word-of-mouth recommendations. Clients have come to trust my ability to bring their visions to life through meticulous attention to detail, a creative approach, and a commitment to designing timeless spaces that harmonize aesthetics and practicality.
In 2018, I relocated to Fort Worth, Texas, to pursue studies in real estate. However, I soon realized my passion was leading me in a different direction. I later moved to Hilton Head, where I joined one of the region’s largest vacation rental management companies, gaining valuable experience in the short-term rental industry as an Owner Relations/ Local Operations Manager. This role reignited my enthusiasm for working in dynamic, fast-paced environments, and I quickly took on responsibilities such as staging homes, villas, and condos; managing projects; liaising with contractors and vendors; and addressing the day-to-day needs of homeowners, clients, and guests.
Today, I focus on helping homeowners transform both short- and long-term rental properties into thoughtfully designed spaces that reflect their vision, elevate guest experience, and significantly increase revenue through improved design and stronger guest reviews.
Over the course of my five years in vacation rental management, including my time with Vacasa, I successfully staged and designed more than 100 short-term rental properties, preparing them for platforms like Airbnb. Working with project budgets that ranged from $500 to over $200,000, I witnessed firsthand how intentional, well-executed design could elevate demand, increase rental income, and create unforgettable guest experiences.
I recognize that not every homeowner requires or desires an extensive renovation. Often, a few mindful updates, such as rearranging furniture, selecting new paint, refining décor, or making strategic remodeling choices, can completely transform a space. Collaborating with clients to create impactful changes within their budgets is a process I genuinely enjoy.
I’ve also worked with homeowners struggling to sell properties that had remained on the market for years. With my guidance on targeted upgrades, several were able to secure offers in under a month. References are always available upon request.
